MJ Kirsche (she/her/hers) is a writer and performing artist based in Franklin, MA. MJ has been on stage many times in her life, but discovered her passion for acting and performance as a youth ensembliste in a High School production. She then went on to land her first role, and never looked back.

As well as loving theatre, MJ is also a passionate writer, and loves spending her time writing books, short stories, songs, poems, and of course, plays and musicals. In 2019 , she fully produced a one act original play, The Witches of Wester Way, performing at the Sea Tea Comedy Theatre in Hartford, CT. In 2022 she was announced as one of four winners of Trinity Rep’s “Write Here! Write Now!” student annual playwriting competition for her short play, Mortal Dilemma, which also played at Dean College later that year. For the past year, MJ has also been on the team of BroadwayWorlds student bloggers where she documents her life as a theatre major twice a month.

In her free time, MJ enjoys listening to Jason Mraz, practicing mindfulness, pretending she’s dating Peter Parker, and correcting people on what MJ stands for.

MJ has spent the past two years at Dean College as a Musical Theatre major and will finish with her Associates in Theatre in May. MJ plans to continue going to school and receive her BFA in Musical Theatre in the next few years.

Past companies MJ has trained with include The Broadway Collective, The Virtual Theatre Co, and Sea Tea Improv.

MJ has played a variety of roles, from 70s queen Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia!, to old drunk Selsdon Mowbray in comedy Noises Off. MJ loves the experience of getting to perform so many interesting and challenging roles of different genres and genders, and never shys away from “a part she can’t play”.

MJ is also a devoted playwright and has written and directed several of her pieces at a variety of venues. In 2022, her short play, Mortal Dilemma, read first at Trinity Repertory Company, and then fully performed at Dean College, under MJ’s direction. Also at Dean, act one of her new play Bugaboo received a staged reading in February 2024 to assist in the writing process of act two

Currently, MJ is a Musical Theatre major at Dean College and is set to graduate in May with her Associates in Theatre.
